YOUR FIRST AGENT

From an idea to a conversation.

A practical guide to creating your first Lomus agent. Start in Studio, then make the experience your own.

01

Create and verify your account

Open the Lomus app, create an account, and verify your email. Verification is needed before protected actions such as provisioning. Your workspace starts on Trial with no included AI credits.

02

Give your agent a purpose

Choose to create an agent, name it, select a supported model, and add instructions if you wish. For example: “Help me research ideas. Be concise and link to your sources.” The current setup creates a Hermes agent.

03

Choose where to talk

Choose Studio only to begin without external bot credentials. To add Telegram, create a bot through Telegram’s BotFather, enter its token in Lomus, and configure access settings. Keep your bot token private. Slack and Discord are also supported. If they are not shown in your setup flow, contact support for connection guidance; the current self-serve wizard lists Telegram.

04

Configure usage and capabilities

Choose your own supported model key or managed AI where your plan allows it. Starter requires BYOK. Managed AI needs available credits. Enable optional media features only when included in your plan; review settings and prerequisites before continuing.

05

Create your agent and open Studio

Submit the setup and watch the provisioning progress. Once the agent is ready, open Studio and start a conversation. If provisioning fails, review the displayed error and contact support if needed. Setup time can vary.

06

Add skills, then try a small task

Open Skills, review an item’s requirements, and enable it for your agent. You can also submit a custom skill for review. Try a focused prompt, review the result, and refine your instructions. Check usage as you go.

07

Bring in people and credentials

Invite collaborators from Team and assign the access each person needs. Store credentials in Secrets, choosing shared workspace access or private access for yourself. For private secrets in Telegram or Discord, link your channel identity in the Secrets page. Keep credentials out of chat messages.

Need a hand? Ask the community or email support@lomus.ai. Do not include API keys or bot tokens in messages.
